CM Punk surgery: Fantasy Impact for Wrestlemania Season

How will CM Punk's injury and removal from TLC impact the upcoming season?

As you all know by now, CM Punk needed surgery on his knee on Tuesday and has been pulled from the TLC Match

The replacement match has been announced as the Shield vs Team Hell No and Ryback in a TLC match.

If your draft has already happened, this won't affect much.   Most of the main players involved (Punk, Ryback, Hell No, any of the other potential WWE Championship contenders like Cena) are more than likely already drafted and this doesnt justify dropping Punk if you already have him obviously.  You probably aren't happy if you took him in the top 3 or 4 picks given that his points will be limited for the next few weeks (and he's missing a big nearly obvious title retention stip match at TLC), but he should still be a major player for the rest of the season and should still be in the top 10 when it's over.

The one thing to possibly adjust is if your league members werent smart enough to snatch up all 3 members of the Shield.  The Punk injury is forcing the WWE to advance their in ring debuts for TLC which is something I think they were planning to hold off on for a while, and there won't be any excuse to keeping them out of matches going forward.  Thrusting them immediately against Hell No, Orton, and of course Ryback just goes to show how major this storyline is and will be this season.   If Amborse, Rollins and Reigns are available in your league I'd do almost everything (don't be silly now and drop someone like Sheamus or Orton for them) in my power to grab them.  As a matter of fact I just checked on one of my leagues I pretty much had forgotten I was in, and someone on there already had grabbed all three.   I fail at life.

If your draft has NOT happened, I think this does what I mentioned above in raising the potential draft order of all three members of the Shield, and drops CM Punk just slightly.  Again you had to assume he was going to retain and in that big time stip match prior to the surgery, so that's a negative 60 point swing in what he could be expected to earn this season.  It also could slightly raise the status of guys like Ryback, Cena, and in a stretch, the Rock, as who knows long term if this surgery might alter the WWE Championship plans (though probably not).   If anything it solidifies Ryback's spot as the #1 draft pick this year as his odds of winning the belt have gone up at least slightly because of this.
