RAW Rant

Quick one this week.   While the card for Summerslam still looks good to me, the buildup to me has been awful for the most part except maybe for Brock vs Cena (that video was great) and Rollins vs Ambrose.   Almost every other match I've found the buildup to be torturous.  Why hasn't there been any sort of build for a US Title match, or a tag title match?   Having both of these not defended on one of the major shows would be a misstep IMO.   The continued abuse of Cesaro continues to frustrate me, which might be the whole point of this, but if he turns into the next Damien Sandow I'll never understand the reasoning behind it (much like I dont understand the reasoning behind Sandow's current, awful run).    Was shocked when the news hit that Del Rio had been terminated.   You can't just go around slapping people in the WWE apparently, even though their programming might tell you otherwise.  Will be very interested to hear the details if they ever come to light.   Just coincidence that Ricardo Rodriguez was just let go last week?    Lastly if you missed it some photos came out supposedly showing the new presumably unified title, and that Smackdown will be moving to Thursdays.   Neither of these items does anything for me personally, but there you have it anyway

Smackdown Preview

1.  Seth Rollins vs Dolph Ziggler:   If there's going to be a winner, it'll be Seth, but odds are this ends up in some sort of DQ or schmozz with either Miz or Ambrose doing the run in.   I'll say Miz helps Dolph lose.

2.  Damien Sandow vs Sin Cara,  Enough already with this.   But wait, Sandow might actually have a chance here?   Gonna go with a Sin Cara win though as much as that pains me.

3.  Paige vs Natalya   Paige should win to build momentum to her Divas match, but this is the Divas division, and nothing that happens here ever makes sense.   I'll still go with that because I'm so gullible.  Paige wins.  Surely AJ will be at ringside or do something also.

4.  Goldust and Stardust vs Rybaxel:  The best of 512 match series continues!   Right now the Rhodes Brothers are up 152 matches to Rybaxels 20.   Gotta go with them to continue their dominance.   Rhodes Bros. take it.

5.  Randy Orton vs Dean Ambrose:   I feel like we've seen all of these matches 100s of times.   It's getting difficult to even care.   Um, they need to build Orton up more for his match against Reigns, so I'll say RKO takes it, probably due to Rollins interfering, and then we have a nice two on two match for Raw or next week's smackdown.   Snoozeville.

OVERALL:   This looks like an awful show.   Only 5 matches and most of those seem uninspired.    Where are Kofi and Big E in their new roles?   Where is Cesaro, the Usos, Sheamus?   Do they all have better things to do currently?   How can you not fill a 2 hour show with at least 6+ matches.   I probably wont watch any of this.   Drink the whole bottle if you plan to.

RISING

 1.  #SLATERGATOR:   They're taking over!   Dropthebelt.com visits have grown exponentially ever since they formed.   You guys can't get enough.   Seriously though, Heath especially has been earning some good points lately and as a team they can easily hold their own against what else the WWE has to offer for that division, so why not?

2.  Diego:  He's slowly been earning win after win.   I'm not 100% sold on him being a viable roster member, but I do wish I'd seen that coming

3.  Mark Henry:   Well, he's back, but one can only guess how much they'll use him and in what capacity.   A few more squashes like the one he had Monday would make it all worthwhile to have him as an anchor on your team

FALLING

1.  Alberto Del Rio:  Slapping another WWE employee = termination.   Piledriving them on top of a car and then running them over is more acceptable.

2.  RVD:  Milk carton alert lives!   Wow every time I do one of those, the guy shows up the next week.  So I have RVD on it last week, and the WWE schedules a match against Rollins only to pull it for storyline purposes.   Great stuff.

3.  Cameron/Naomi:  It was good while it lasted, but they've seemingly taken a back burner to all the other Divas stuff going on and I dont see them having a spot at Summerslam.
