Choke's Smackdown 12/14/12 Fantasy Preview

Here I take a look at the matches listed for the show tonight (NO MATCH RESULT SPOILERS) and what kind of impact the show might bring to fantasy leagues and the trade window opening

I decided to do things a little different this season in regards to Smackdown.  I never felt quite good about posting up a recap of Smackdown on Saturday or Sunday after the show, as by that point the trade window is open and anyone who watched it or read the spoilers has already taken anyone notable.

I personally don't read the full spoilers as it'd make me find the show much less enjoyable, but I like seeing the upcoming matches.  I'll do my ratings based solely on those as well as who I THINK will win.   Obviously these rankings would adjust based on what actually happens, but you can get a feel for it just from the matches a lot of times

Match list which I pulled from www.prowrestling.net

Big Show vs R-Truth
Usos vs Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow
Kaitlyn vs Aksana
Khali, Hornswoggle, Kidd and Gabriel vs PTP, Primo and Epico in an eight man tag
Kofi vs Alberto Del Rio
Sheamus vs Antonio Cesaro

First of all, looks like a fairly decent edition of Smackdown.  I like the mixing and matching of all the competetitors from the title matches all together.

Can't see R-Truth winning.  With Rhodes Scholars having the big #1 contenders match this Sunday, it's also tough to see them losing to the Usos.  I could see Sin Cara and Rey costing them the match in a longshot, setting up for an Usos vs Rhodes Scholars feud down the line, but probably not.   I LOVE Kaitlyn to win the diva's pre-show match to set up another title shot with Eve, so I look for her to win there.  Khali might be the darkhorse of the season.  Looks like they're trying to integrate him more with Horny (UGH btw), and he could pick up some decent points at the Rumble.  I kinda like him as a shot in the dark 6th or 7th man on a league.  Hopefully PTP get the win there, but I actually like the face team to...  Del Rio's been on a roll, and if Kofi loses the IC belt to Wade which seems to be the popular opinion then I could see him losing here like he did against Cesaro recently.  Finally Sheamus is Sheamus so he'll probably close the show staring down the Big Show, or they'll have a giant schmozz like they did Monday.

Rising:
1.  Kaitlyn:   I think I underrated her pre-season.   I like her to get the easy points tonight and to pick up the #1 contenders shot this Sunday
2.  Khali:  They're trying to shove him down our throats (ouch).   As much as we all hate it, he could be a decent point getter in the time being
3.  Usos:  Longshot, but with their decent showing on Raw, and then a match against the probable soon to be #1 contenders, maybe they're getting another shot at relevancy again?

Falling:
1.  PTP:   IF they lose here as I think they will.   Plus if Rhodes and Sandow end up with the belts, where will they go with the OTHER predominant heel team?
2.  Kofi:  Still worth holding obviously, but if he does lose the belt Sunday, not sure where they go with him for the next few months
3.  R-Truth:  What he really doesnt need is a loss against the Big Show before inevitably(?) losing his title shot against Cesaro.
