Choke's Smackdown 10/5/12 Fantasy Report: Prime Time Points

Who's rising, who's falling after last night's Smackdown?

Good show of wrestling action but not much for storyline development.  As a result, not much to discuss in terms of rising and falling.   Plus anyone I can mention really is already a solid hold and probably unavailable in your league.  That's the way it happens sometimes

Rising:
1.  Wade Barrett - Do we really need to see him crush local wrestlers?  Not a fan of the WWE doing this more and more often with the likes of Ryback, Barrett, etc.   I mean since Ryback squashed Primo you couldn't have at least given Barrett Epico?   This belongs on Superstars, if anywhere.   Regardless it should mean some big points for Wade as long as it continues, and he has no major feuds lined up to think otherwise.

2.  PTP - Even though it was pretty expected, their win over Kofi and Truth was worth a lot of points and the WWE seems to actually be buying into their potential lately (plus I think they got some piped in boos, which is always a good sign)  I dont expect them to win against Sin Mysterio though, but they should be around for some time with the tag team division becoming a big focal point as of late

3.  Layla - Yeah I put her in falling last week because I didn't know where she really fit in, but giving her this win over Alicia and having her talk about wanting to win the title back from Eve should give fantasy owners some hope that she'll still be heavily involved.   I still prefer Eve/Kaitlyn/AJ right now in the division, but Layla's a nice 4th option

Also:  Ryback, Punk and Hell No continue to win as expected

Falling:
1.  Kofi/Truth - They've been all over the falling section of my reports lately, and losing in the first round of an 8 team tournament isn't going to change that.   These two desperately need to go back to singles wrestling to get people interested again (not me in particular, but all the little jimmys might care)

2.  David Otunga - He's been the butt of jokes in the WWE for a while, but I always have a feeling that they're going to start actually giving him wins eventually and maybe even compete for one of the lesser titles.  Well, I'm always wrong.  Is he even worth holding at all?   Starting to doubt it.

Also:  Tensai gets points!, but still hasn't pinned someone in seemingly a full year (and still no Sakamoto :( )   Epico, Primo and Alicia Fox continue to make a strong case for FCW.
