My quick predictions for the show tonight
YouTube Pre-Show Zack Ryder vs Kane
I was wondering when they'd continue this feud. Ryder's lost a lot of heat and they have Kane on a roll since the Orton matches. I can see this going either way, but I'll say they try to get some momentum back for Ryder and give him a win
Prediction: Zack Ryder wins
WWE Tag Team Titles match: Swagger and Ziggler vs Kofi and R-Truth
I'd love to think Swaggler can win, but there's just too many heel tag teams out there and not enough faces, so other than the rematch there's not much more they can do with Swaggler holding the belts. Gonna go with Kofi and R-Truth so A.W. can finally cash in on Primo and Epico's rematch clause against the faces soon.
Prediction: Kofi and R-Truth retain the tag titles
World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4 Way: Sheamus vs Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho vs Alberto Del Rio
Even with all the focus on Orton and Sheamus, I do truly think this is a toss up with all 4 have SOME chance to win this. If Jericho or Del Rio win I think it will be short lived however and the WWE is going to really try to sell us Orton and Sheamus in the upcoming months leading to Summerslam. Gonna go with the safe pick of a Sheamus retention.
Prediction: Sheamus retains the World Heavyweight Championship
Divas Championship match: Layla vs Beth Phoenix
I dont give Phoenix much of a chance at all here. She had her moment last year and I don't think the WWE is going to go back to her anytime soon. I look for Layla to retain and move onto a feud with either AJ or maybe even Eve in a wrestler/executive assistant role.
Prediction: Layla retains the Divas Championship
WWE Championship match: Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk
SHOULD be the match of the night, though the buildup has been less than stellar. If Punk retains I think we see this feud continue in the next few months. I think AJ will help Bryan win the title and get back into his good graces.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins the WWE Championship
John Laurinaitis vs John Cena
The WWE sure was stressing the fact that no one on the ACTIVE ROSTER could interfere after shoving down our throats Big Show being fired for about an hour of TV time. I don't think the WWE likes being predictable but I still think they roll with that idea since the Big Show has been absolutely terrible as a face. Using Brock Lesnar would be a waste IMO and someone like Batista would be nice but I dont see it happening. No matter HOW it goes down, I dont think Cena has a chance in hell in winning since they're not going to build up Johnny as this monstrous heel just to have him go away this quickly.
Prediction: John Laurinaitis defeats John Cena with outside interference from Big Show
Overall the show looks light on paper, but I think we can get some quality matches out of it (namely Bryan/Punk, the fatal 4 way and the tags). I could easily see them throwing in a Ryback or Brodus Clay or maybe even Antonio or Damien Sandow squash into the show (probably Ryback and Brodus if I had to guess) I'd really love to see a surprise or two (Christian? Kharma? Batista?) but I'm not holding my breath.
