My predictions for tonight's PPV
Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella for the Divas Championship
I dont see any reason to give this back to the Bellas. I'm completely surprised they're still in the picture at the moment. I've been predicting an Eve or Beth Phoenix heel turn for months so I might as well keep going with that and predict that will be the Summerslam match
Prediction: Kelly Kelly retains, Eve or Beth turn heel in the next few weeks to feud with her.
Big Show vs Mark Henry
Tough match to call IMO. Henry seems like the most logical choice to continue this domination they've been having him go through, but I think Show needs a win also. Whatever happens, I don't think this is the end of this feud, and I see the blowoff being at Summerslam in some sort of stipulation match.
Prediction: Big Show gets the win, and Henry crushes him afterwards setting up a rematch.
Smackdown MITB (Sheamus vs Kane vs Slater vs Gabriel vs Barrett vs Bryan vs Rhodes vs Sin Cara) in a ladder match for Money in the Bank:
Let me start by saying I don't think Slater and Gabriel have ANY chance of winning. Next least likely to me is Kane, though WWE has surprised me before with giving him wins in big matches and even that long World Title run last year. I've seen some sites predict Daniel Bryan but I don't see that at all. Rhodes would be a decent pick if he didn't seem poised for the IC belt run soon. Sin Cara would be interesting but until he improves his botches I don't see it. The two favorites to me are easily Sheamus and Barrett. In the end I like Barrett to win it because he simply needs it more. Sheamus is in the world title mix as is and should get his shot even without this win.
Prediction: Barrett wins MITB
RAW MITB (Del Rio vs Swagger vs Miz vs Riley vs Truth vs Mysterio vs Bourne vs Kingston)
Swagger is the only one of these 8 that I'm 100% confident will not win it. Bourne's pretty close to being there also though. I don't see Mysterio winning because of his injuries plus he doesn't really need this to be over. Truth is simply waiting for a healthy Morrison to return for a big feud so I don't like his chances either. If anyone deserves it it's Miz because of the terrible feud they have him in with Riley right now, but I'm not too confident that'll happen. I'm really hoping they don't give it to Riley, and given the terrible reaction he's getting from fans I dont think they will. That leaves the two I think it'll come down to: Del Rio and Kingston. Del Rio is almost too obvious, but I'm gonna go with it anyhow because
Prediction: Del Rio wins MITB
Orton vs Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship
This has been a great feud thus far but I really do hope this is the finale. There will of course be tons of moments where it looks like Orton is going to lose his cool to be DQ'd. I do like Christian to win it ultimately, and doing so by "cheating" or maybe even making the ref think Orton should be DQ'd.
Prediction: Christian wins the World Heavyweight Championship by "cheating" somehow. I do not think we'll see the Smackdown MITB cashed in tonight UNLESS Sheamus wins it. If he does I think he'll use it tonight against either Orton or Christian. If Barrett wins I think he'll carry it around for quite a while.
Cena vs CM Punk for the WWE Championship
I expect both of these guys to be on their A Game tonight, which unfortunately for us doesn't mean much for Cena's in ring ability. I want to make clear that I REALLY, REALLY HOPE CM Punk wins tonight for the sake of excitemely and riveting storytelling, but anytime I've ever predicted the WWE does something that cool I always find myself disappointed. Therefore,
Prediction: Cena retains the WWE Championship. CM Punk takes an extended break, and the little jimmies rejoice.
As for the after-effects of the show, here's what I would like to see happen given the above predictions being right. Del Rio already technically is the #1 contender, and winning MITB is like having 2 title shots at once. I think at some point he should be granted that match from that July 4th Raw edition that he earned, losing it cleanly, then cashing in his case that same night, perhaps after Cena is attacked by the Rock or someone else? It'd be an interesting idea IMO to have someone with the case in a title match PRIOR to cashing in the case.
For Smackdown I like Christian to win the title as stated above, but I do think he'll lose it again rather quickly to Sheamus continuing his storyline of the tortured wrestler who just can't seem to keep the belt on him
