Thoughts on the impact last night's show has on FUW leagues
This is the first of my Fantasy Impact stories. I'm going to try to do one of these after each RAW and Smackdown and PPVs occasionally. Just to provide my thoughts on how the results of the shows might impact your FUW leagues.
Quite an eventful Smackdown with a World Title Change and the Ezekial Jackson beatdown and dismassal by the Corre.
I'm not going to try to spend my time covering obvious pickups like Randy Orton or any other big name superstars that would not be available in any league, but instead try to focus on those who might be available in any league...
Winners:
1) Ezekial Jackson - Not only do they give him a clean pin on the Big Show, but then he gets jumped out of the Corre? Wow. If anything this should mean some IC title Shots against Barrett, and at worst probably some wins over Slater and Gabriel in the upcoming weeks.
2) Sin Cara - This one might be obvious, it's certainly been obvious in the league I'm in, but this guy is on an unstoppable train of wins right now, particularly if they're going to keep having him wrestler mid to low tier wrestlers like Kidd and Chavo. Fans are eating him up now as well.
3) Cody Rhodes - Also likely an obvious choice, but just in case: the fans hate his promos (as intended) and he has massive heat right now. With a lack of major heels on Smackdown (Barrett, Shaemus, Rhodes? REALLY?), points should be a plenty for him
Losers:
1) Wade Barrett - The IC champ walks around without his IC belt? Then they jump out the most popular Corre member out of the group. He hasnt even defended the belt in what seems like months. Do they even recognize it as a legitimate title anymore? Seems like the writing's on the wall here.
2) Daniel Bryan - Went from having insane internet buzz and having the US title for what felt like a year and a half, to being on some ridiculous Santino team, getting paired with Gail Kim, and then being unceremoniously traded to Smackdown and losing to Shaemus on his debut for the show.
3) Mark Henry - Well, there goes all the heat from the draft episode. He should be destroying at least one face every episode. Seems like we go through this on a yearly basis with him.
Wildcard pick:
Jinder Mahal - he might not even be in the catalog yet, but if you're holding onto someone on your team who's not getting you any points, might be worth considering a pickup since it seems that the WWE at least has plans to put him in a feud against Khali eventually where I'm guessing he'll pick up some wins (and hopefully it sends Khali packing?
As far as Christian, I like his situation a lot. I think he'll win a lot of matches and personally think he'll have the World Title again shortly which is worth more points than never losing it at all.
Long first post from me, each week I expect it to get shorter as there will surely be less to talk about once I've established my takes on everyone. Check back Monday night or Tuesday morning for my RAW impact.
