Choke's Fantasy Preview: Pre-Royal Rumble Extravaganza

A fantasy preview of the Royal Rumble, including a discussion of who to consider trading for when the trade window opens this Friday night.

The final RAW and Smackdown before the Rumble!  Hype hype hype!!!  Unfortunately it failed to deliver in many aspects. No major developments other than Ziggler being #1 or #2 and the finalization of Miz vs Cesaro in the pre-show.   What gives?

Smackdown this Friday doesn't look much better.   They are seriously going to give us a Rosa vs Natalya match?  2 days before the Rumble?   I mean maybe it'll be a #1 contender's match, or maybe Tamina will come in and destroy both of them setting her up vs Kaitlyn at the Rumble?   I don't know, it just doesn't make any sense otherwise.

I believe Rhodes Scholars will win the tag belts Sunday, but I doubt either is available on your league so I'll leave them out.  As I said last week, if your entire league is sleeping, the Rock might be up for grabs and I'd recommend taking him.  Let's get to some more dark horse picks that might be availible

Rising
1.  3MB - At this point we're certain they will be in the Rumble, and I could see the three of them getting 3-4 eliminations as a group, and if they all participate in throwing a wrestler out, all 3 will get points.  There's a good chance one or more of these guys are available, and those few points you could get might be worth picking one up vs a guy who is less likely to get any like either member of PTP or R Truth
2.  Khali - I was ready to drop this guy last week when all the sudden he comes out on Smackdown and gets a clean win over Tensai.  HE HAS MORE POINTS THIS SEASON THAN KOFI KINGSTON OR THE MIZ.  Ride the wave out.  Odds are he'll be in the rumble and I think if so he's good for a few eliminations.
3.  Undertaker - Bit of a gamble, but if he makes some surprise appearance at the Rumble in anticipation of his annual Wrestlemania match, you might not want to be scrambling to pick him up after the fact.  I'd only consider this an option if you have someone who is very low on points at the moment with no signs of coming back strong, like maybe Sin Cara or Zack Ryder
4.  Your own Royal Rumble surprise:  Maybe you think Mark Henry will come back, maybe Christian.  Maybe Brock Lesnar?  Whatever you think, now is the time to gamble and pick them up!  Fortune favors the bold!

Also:  Big E Langston and AJ Lee have been racking up points from getting ejected in addition to accompanying, microphone and interference/attack points.  Imagine when they actually start getting singles matches (same with the Shield).  Sheamus and Cesaro continue their impressive seasons as well as Barrett and Del Rio

Falling
1.  Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara:  Okay so it was announced that Rey had some family issues.  Is it me or does Rey seem cursed?  There always seems to be SOMETHING going on preventing him from wrestling.  Also with Del Rio's surge into the spotlight, maybe the WWE is ready to move on.   I'd be a little concerned with him on my team.  Sin Cara is still Sin Cara, unfortunately for those who have him on their team.
2.  Aksana:  The feud that never was.   Zero point in holding onto her (I know, I know, you never picked her up anyway)
3.  Ricardo Rodriguez:  Haven't mentioned RR much this season, and while he's still racking up those Microphone and Accompanying points, his stock has dropped a bit especially with Del Rio turning face.  Heel managers/valents >>> Face managers/valets as far as points

Also:  PTP are non-existent in the hunt for the tag belts.  Zack Ryder "WHO? WHO? WHO?  dont know him"

I'll be posting a full-on Royal Rumble Prediction Story this weekend.  Be sure to stay tuned for my ridiculously crafted scenarios that will never happen.
